Temperature stabilization
For Laser Modules, Polara™ combines the functions of the heat spreader and submount (in
the typical package shown), thereby increasing heat transfer efficiency and reducing
manufacturing costs. With power densities approaching 10 MW/cm2 and sensitivity to
temperature fluctuations, laser diodes require both heat spreading and temperature
stabilization.
Polara technology is scalable to any power density. Devices with multiple emitters such as
laser diode bars also require all emitters to operate at the same temperature. Unlike simple
conductive heat spreaders, Polara's anisotropic design ensures isothermal operation and
uniform wavelength emissions.
