A solution using Enerdyne's Polara can save a manufacturer of today's typically-configured
machine more than $3 per unit. If the price is left unchanged this reduction in COGS goes
straight to the bottom line in the form of $3 more net profit for every unit sold. The
market research group IDC estimates that approximately 168 million desktop computers
shipped in 2003 in the United States. If Polara had been installed on each of those machines,
OEMs would have reaped at least an additional $500 million in profits.

(Dollar costs are for illustrative purposes only. Actual costs will depend on specifics
of the application.)
Alternatively, Polara's additional cooling performance allows manufacturers to improve
the computational performance of their offerings by simply increasing the clock speed of the
CPU. The result? Higher performance and faster throughput without any change of silicon or
any additional cost.
